The Georgian Professional Beekeepers Association was founded in December, 1999. The Association has its own offices in Tbilisi, Kakheti and Imereti regions, where seminars are held once in a month within the fall-winter period. In 2008-2010, the association published a quarterly newspaper – “Bee and Beekeeping”. The association unites more than 200 member beekeepers. |

Introduction and implementation of the modern beekeeping experiences, technologies, scientific achievements of local and foreign countries for the development of beekeeping in Georgia;
Conservation of Georgian Gray Mountain Bee gene pool, care for its preservation and breeding Promotion of the Georgian Gray Mountain Bee, both in Georgia and abroad;
Coordination of the professional beekeepers of Georgia, protection of their rights, assistance in production, processing and realization of beekeeping products;
Conservation of the nature of Georgia and participation in international ecological activities;
Assistance in production, processing and realization of ecologically clean beekeeping products;
Cultivation of honey plants; |

In order to achieve the set goals, the Union carries out activities as follows: |

Participation in legislative work in the beekeeping sector;
Facilitation of scientific research activities in the sector;
Provision of legal and consulting services for professional beekeepers;
Conducting breeding activities for Georgian Grey Bee;
Supporting in the sale of products produced by beekeepers;
Supporting of the beekeeping sector with necessary materials, inventory, equipment, pharmaceutical products and scientific-research literature;
Cultivation of honey plants;
Provision of business trips abroad for its members in order to get familiarized with the modern technologies.
